What the checks cover

Before a result reaches you, Extrastep checks it against your request. Knowing what those checks cover tells you what you still need to check yourself.

What is checked

• A valid build. The design is rebuilt from its source, and every part must be a valid solid.
• Exact measurements. The agent measures the result against what you asked for: sizes, positions, hole diameters, clearances, and overlap between parts and with any space you reserved. Measurements use the exact geometry, not the display mesh.
• Protected parts. Imported geometry can't change, and locked parts can't move.
• A visual review. The agent reviews fresh isometric and orthographic views of the final result, and the chat shows them.

A result is published only when its checks pass and its views have been reviewed. If the agent can't get there, your design stays as it was.

What the checks don't establish

The checks confirm geometry. They don't establish:

• strength, stiffness, or whether a thread or snap will hold
• whether parts can actually be assembled in order, or cables routed
• electrical connections
• whether a process can manufacture the part
• safety, or compliance with any standard

Review every design, and test it where it matters, before you manufacture it or rely on it.
