Getting started

Extrastep turns a conversation into exact CAD. You describe what you need and point at geometry; it edits the design's source code, rebuilds it, checks the result and shows you.

Sign in

Sign in with Google, with Apple, or with your email address and a password. If you're new, the same page creates your account; with an email address, a code we send confirms it. New accounts start with $5 of credits.

Start a project

A project is one design: its parts, its history and any number of chats. From the projects page, choose:

• New project to start empty. Describe the part in your first message, or attach STEP files with + to design around them.
• Example to open a small mounting plate and try changes on it.

Ask for a change

Write what you need in the chat, with dimensions in millimeters, and click the model to reference the faces, edges or parts you mean. For example:

Make this hole 7 mm and keep its center. with a reference to the hole's edge, or Add a 2 mm fillet to the four outer vertical edges.

Each message starts a turn. The agent reads the design's source, edits it, builds it, measures the result against your request and reviews fresh views of it. When everything passes, the new design appears with a summary and the views it checked.

While a turn runs

You can keep orbiting, sectioning and hiding parts. Picking geometry and sending messages wait until the result has loaded. Stop ends the turn and keeps your design as it was.
