How credits work
- One credit is one US dollarCredits pay for the AI model's work at its list price. Building, checking, rendering and exports are included.
- A turn is charged when it endsA turn is one message and everything the agent does for it. It's charged for the model requests it made, whether it finishes, fails or you stop it.
- Turns start above zeroA turn can start while your balance is above zero. A turn that runs past zero still finishes, so the balance can dip below it.
- Every charge is listedYour account shows each turn's cost and your balance after it.

Questions
What does a turn cost?
It depends on how much the agent reads, builds and checks. A small change to one feature uses fewer requests than a new enclosure around several parts. Your account shows what each turn cost.
Do stopped or failed turns cost credits?
Yes, for the model requests they made. Stopping a turn keeps your design as it was before the turn.
What happens at zero credits?
New turns can't start until your balance is above zero. Your projects, their history and exports stay available.
Can I export on the Free plan?
Yes. Every plan has the same export options: STEP, STL or 3MF, every part or a chosen few, in one file or one file per part.
How do I buy more credits?
Buying credits and the Studio plan open soon.
Can I get a refund?
Purchases are final. We refund a charge made in error if you email support@extrastep.ai within 14 days of the charge. Email us before disputing a charge with your bank.
Who can see my designs?
Your projects live in your own workspace, and no other account can open them. The AI model's provider receives what each turn needs. Security and your data explains how your files are handled.
